How to Import Ringtones to My iPhone

Convert a Song to a Ringtone

1. Select a song for ringtone conversion. Click “Music” under the Library section of iTunes, and right-click the song you wish to convert into a ringtone. A message will appear if the song can't be converted. Otherwise, an audio bar will appear at the bottom of your iTunes window.

2. Click and hold the adjustment bars. The adjustment bars at each end of the audio bar allow you to adjust the length of the ringtone clip and change the location of playback. Move your cursor to each end of the blue bar. Your cursor will change to a double-sided arrow when you reach the end. Use these arrows to adjust your clip.

3. Click “Preview” to listen to your customized clip, and then click the “Buy” button if you're ready to buy. Enter your Apple ID and password, and click “Buy'. Connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB cable. Wait for iTunes to automatically start up if it's not already running, or click the “iTunes” icon located on your dock. Alternatively, you can click the “Finder” icon on your dock, click “Go” at the top of the menu and select “Applications” from the menu. Double-click “iTunes” to run the program.

4. Click the name of your device under the “Devices” section. Click the “Ringtone” tab, check the box next to “Sync ringtones” and click the “Sync” button at the bottom of the iTunes window.
