How to Fix a Tribal Dragon Tattoo
Fixing Your Tattoo
1. Evaluate what needs to be fixed. Perhaps the tattoo has faded or the initial tattoo job left a dull image and it just needs to be refreshed. If this is the case, the fix can be rather simple. If the tattoo design is not quite what you wanted, you may need to cover the first tattoo in some parts or completely.
2. Sketch out the design you want the tattoo to look like. Maybe you are just tracing out the original image, but adding a few embellishments or perhaps you need to come up with a new design to cover the old one. A seasoned tattoo artist can help you with this if you are not artistically gifted.
3. Transfer the image to your skin by going over the image on the paper with pen, covering the designated skin with a roll-on deodorant, then placing the paper in the skin in the proper orientation. When you peel the paper back, the image should have transferred. If the image transferred incompletely, you may need to try again or just use the pen to draw it on.
4. Tattoo the design on, this should be done by a seasoned tattoo artist. Going too deep into the skin could result in scarring; too shallow and the ink may not stick. The tattoo artist may need to free-hand parts of the design to correct it.
5. Keep the corrected tattoo moist. Several products such as vitamin E, a triple antibiotic topical ointment or a higher-quality lotion can be used to several times daily to keep the area hydrated. Hydrating the skin can help prevent the scab from pulling off the tattoo and taking the ink with it. Use the moistening agent until all the tattoo is completely healed.
