How to Configure Hotmail for Android Phones



1. Navigate to your Android phone's home screen.

2. Tap the 'Applications' icon to expand the list of applications on your phone.

3. Tap the 'Email' icon. If you have previously setup another email account on your phone, you will also need to press 'Menu,' and then touch 'Add Account.'

4. Type your Hotmail account email address into the 'Email address' field, and then type your Hotmail password into the 'Password' field.

5. Press 'Manual Setup.'

6. Touch the 'POP3' button.

7. Type your full email address, including the '@hotmail.com' part, into the 'Username' field.

8. Type 'pop3.live.com' into the 'POP3 server' field, type '995' into the 'Port' field, select 'SSL' from the 'Security type' drop-down menu, and then press 'Next.'

9. Type 'smtp.live.com' into the 'SMTP server' field, type '587' into the 'Port' field, select 'TLS' from the 'Security type' drop-down menu, and then press 'Next.'

10. Change the 'Email check frequency,' 'Default account' and 'Email notifications' to suit your own preferences, and then touch 'Next.'

11. Type a name for your account, type a name to display in the 'From' field of your sent emails, and then touch 'Done.'
