Calorie Counter by Fat Secret is a free app that lists the calories, fat, carbohydrates and other nutritional information about foods found in restaurants and supermarkets. The app includes a bar code scanner to quickly input calories. It also allows you to track food, exercise and weight. To help you meet your fitness and weight-loss goals, Calorie Counter will keep track of your consumed calories and calculate how many calories remain in your daily allowance.

MyFitness Pal

MyFitness Pal is a free app with a large food database for calorie counting. The app allows you to input your own foods and recipes and add multiple items at one time. MyFitness Pal remembers your most frequent entries as favorites, so you do not have to enter them repeatedly. In addition to tracking food calories, you can also use this app to track your calories burned in exercise.

MyNet Diary

MyNet Diary is a paid app that is ad-free. It includes a bar code scanner and a large database of foods. The app contains more than 40 screens and free website syncing capabilities. MyNet Diary tracks up to 45 nutrients, counting calories, cholesterol, fiber, sugars and more. A daily analysis tool looks at the foods you are tracking and suggests how to eat better.

SparkPeople

The free SparkPeople diet and food tracker app includes calorie counts and additional nutritional information on foods. The app allows you to track calories consumed and burned. You can also use the app to record and track weight loss and your overall wellness goals. In addition to calorie counting, the SparkPeople app offers meal plans, exercise tracking and animated exercise demonstrations.

Calorie Tracker by Livestrong

The Calorie Tracker by Livestrong is a paid app that tracks calories, fat, protein, carbohydrates and other nutritional information. The app provides a direct link to Daily Plate, Livestrong's large food database. You can input your weight loss goal into Calorie Tracker, and the app will calculate your daily calorie intake to make sure you are staying on course. You can also track exercises and sync the app with the Livestrong website.

Fast Food Calorie Counter

The Fast Food Calorie Counter is available in both free and paid versions. The 'lite' or free version includes food information for 10 restaurants, while the paid version has information for more than 70 restaurants. The app breaks down menu items by calories, fat, carbohydrates and more. The Fast Food Calorie Counter can also keep track of your calories consumed per day and allows you to create custom meals.
