How to Disable SMS Notifications on a Droid

1. Go to the 'Messaging' application. The Messaging window will have all the different messaging applications you have set up on your phone.

2. Press the 'Menu' button. Choose 'Messaging Settings' from the menu choices. The Messaging Settings has all the applications' settings listed.

3. Touch the 'Text Messaging' application, which will open the settings for the text messaging application only.

4. Touch the check box next to 'Notifications' under the Text Messaging Settings heading to deselect it. The box should not show a check mark to it. This will only disable the notifications you receive from the standard application for text messaging.
