How to Connect an Email Server to an Android Phone

1. Open the application menu and touch 'Email.'

2. Type your email address and password in the provided boxes, then tap 'Next.'

3. Select the type of email server. You have a choice of POP3, IMAP or Exchange.

4. Type the settings for your email server. For POP3 and IMAP, you will need your user name, server name and the port settings for the incoming and outgoing email servers. For an Exchange server email account, you will need the address of the Exchange server.

5. Check 'Require sign-in' if your outgoing SMTP server requires authentication. The username and password for the outgoing server are usually the same as the incoming server. If you are not sure, check with your email provider. Skip this step for Exchange servers.

6. Touch 'Next' and select the frequency interval to check for email. You can also check the option to send from the account by default, and set the notification settings.

7. Touch 'Next' and enter a name for the email account. Type the name you want email recipients to see in the 'From:' field.

8. Tap 'Done' to complete the email setup.
