How to Connect HTC Mobile to a PC

1. Find the micro or mini USB port on your phone. It's the same port you use to charge your phone and is usually found on the bottom of the phone.

2. Plug the USB end of the lead into the phone. Plug the other end---the standard-sized USB---into the appropriate port on your PC.

3. Click 'OK' when the PC asks if you would like to install drivers.

4. Click 'OK' when a confirmation message that the drivers were successfully installed comes up on screen. As soon as that message appears, your HTC phone will pop up with a menu called 'Connect to PC' and gives you four options.

5. Choose 'Charge only' if you just want to charge the phone as if it was connected to a charger. The other options will also charge the phone in addition to their other functions.

6. Select 'HTC Sync' if you want to synchronize Outlook contacts, calendar and web browser bookmarks between your computer and phone.

7. Choose 'Disk drive' if you want to mount the phone as an external hard drive to your phone. Options will appear on your PC pertaining to the removable disk, such as 'open folder to view files.'

8. Select 'USB tethering' to share the Internet your phone receives with the PC.

9. Install the HTC software from the HTC website. (See Resources).
