How to Use an HTC G1 Android without Gmail

1. Power on your HTC G1 phone. Wait until the screen appears that says 'Touch the Android to Begin.'

2. Tap on the upper-left corner of the screen, then tap the upper-right corner of the screen.

3. Tap on the lower-right corner of the screen just above the 'Emergency Call' and 'Change Language' buttons, then tap on the lower-left corner of the screen. Don't press the buttons, but rather tap just above the buttons.

4. Use the non-Google features on the phone. You will see the Android home screen with the basic applications that come with a new phone. If you access any of the Google applications, you will be prompted to sign in with a Google Account. You can make phone calls, browse the Internet, send and receive non-Google email, and send text messages on your G1 without signing in with a GMail account.
