How to Make Calls on a Rooted Nook Color



Install Android Market

1. Download and install the free Android SDK (Software Developer Kit) program onto your computer. This free software is available via the Android Developers Website --developer.android.com.

2. Download and install the free NookColor Windows ADB USB drivers onto your computer. The drivers are available on the MediaFire Website at mediafire.com.

3. Connect your Nook Color to your computer via a compatible USB cable. Plug one end of the cable into your Nook's USB port. Plug the other end into your computer's USB port.

4. Download and install HoneyGApps to your computer's hard drive as a zipped folder. HoneyGApps is free software, available via the Addictive Tips Website .

5. Right-click the downloaded HoneyGApps folder. Select “Extract All” to unzip the folder contents. Double-click the HoneyGApps folder to open it.

6. Double-click the “HoneyGApps Install” file inside the HoneyGApps folder. Wait as the Google Apps, including Android Market, are installed onto your Nook Color.

7. Click your Windows “Start” button, once the HoneyGApps installation is complete. Select “Computer.” Right-click the icon that represents your Nook Color. Select “Eject.”

8. Disconnect the USB cable between your Nook Color and computer.

Install VoIP Software

9. Open the Android Market application on your Nook.

10. Type “VoIP” into the designated search box. A list of VoIP applications appear in the search results. A few of the available free apps include Mobile VoIP, Wi Call, GrooveIP and VoIP Buster. Some apps may cost a fee.

11. Tap “Install” for the VOIP application you want to use to place phone calls.

12. Open the VOIP application on your Nook. When you open the application for the first time, you'll have to complete a setup wizard.

13. Connect your headset into the Nook's headphone jack. Place a telephone call by dialing the telephone number on the VoIP telephony keypad.
